Pooka is the alpha female and is 8 years old. She has lots of attitude. She was named after the pooka Harvey, in the movie Harvey. A pooka is a mischievous spirit and she truly is. She loves loving, but only when she wants it on her terms. Her terms are becoming more and more frequent though. Everyone gets along with Pooka and she gets more attention from the other animals than all the other cats combined. She is particularly in love with Chrissy. Chrissy puts up with her and even occasionally plays with her.
Pooka and her littermates were brought into my vet clinic as newborns. One of the people who work there took it upon herself to bottle feed the litter. When they got big enough to wander around a little, she began letting them out of the cage while she was at work. The first time Pooka saw me, she ran up my leg. Every time after that, whenever she heard me, she came running and cried until I showed her attention. I knew then what people meant about a cat picking you.
I've gotten three of my rescues, Pooka, Wee Willy, and Chrissy, from people that work at my vet's. They are all the sweetest animals and have personality to spare. My life would be sorely missing something if it weren't for these people introducing these pets to me. You know who you are and I thank and bless you every day for this and the many, many other acts of kindness you have shown me and countless others!!!
