It never ceases to amaze me how cruel some people can be. Monty's previous owner would not feed Monty. Then when Monty would sniff the human's food plate, he'd throw Monty in a metal garbage can and shoot Monty with a BB gun to teach him not to touch the human food. Consequently, Monty suffered massive damage to his jaw. After Monty was rescued, he received several jaw surgeries. He was also diagnosed as having Feline Leukemia. He had tested negative when first tested or they would have put him down immediately. Since the rescuers had already spent so much money on his surgeries, they decided to try and find him a home instead of euthanizing him.
Monty's surgeries were not totally successful. He is missing about 1/3 of his lower jaw. This picture shows how misshaped his jaw is. The red arrow shows where his lower canine tooth is. The blue arrow shows where it should be.
Several miracles happened concerning this cat, as far as I'm concerned! First, that he tested negative for the leukemia disease on his first testing. Second, that he survived at all his horrendous treatment. Thirdly, that he could find a forever home with all his special needs.
Monty is a miracle cat. He had a will to live and to be loved. He was adopted into the perfect home to help him fulfill both of these things.
This is a picture of him the day his new human Mommy picked him up.
He is so full of personality, how could anyone not fall in love with him?
Please love me and don't hurt me!!! All I want is to be loved and then I'll love you twice as much back!!
Here he is playing with a toy. Makes you wonder if he's ever had one before?
Finally he arrives at his forever home. Here he is reclining after his long trip. Notice how his tongue sticks out. That is because of the missing part of his jaw.
It doesn't take Monty long to learn he has found the perfect home!
Wow, even more toys! Surely I'm in cat heaven!!!
I get my own bed too.
I want to make sure my new Mommy wants me to live here forever, so I'll help her make the bed!!
I know my new Mommy really loves me so here I am loving her back twice as much. I'm giving her happy toes with both feet!
Not everything is a bed of roses, however!! Sometimes my Mommy spends too much time on the computer.
I know how to fix that though!
I know I have the best home in the world!!! Thank you Mommy for saving my life and giving me the chance to be loved and to give love.
An even better happy ending, Monty has now tested negative for the feline leukemia virus. His body was able to fight off this disease!!
